Santicizer Platinum G-2000 USDA BioPreferred labeling

Valtris Specialty Chemicals, Inc. Earns USDA Certified Biobased Product Label. Valtris Specialty Chemicals, Inc. announced today that it has earned the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Certified Biobased Product label. The product, Santicizer® Platinum G-2000, is now able to display a unique USDA label that highlights its percentage of Biobased content. Third-party verification for a product’s Biobased content is administered through the USDA BioPreferred Program. One of the goals of the BioPreferred Program is to increase the development, purchase and use of biobased products.

Santicizer® Platinum G-2000 is an epoxy soyate ester with 85% certified Biobased content. Santicizer® Platinum G-2000 is an excellent general purpose plasticizer with performance comparable to other non-phthalate general purpose plasticizers. It offers good processing performance, excellent low temperature properties, and outstanding heat stability all while providing significant Biobased content. Formulators can also combine Santicizer® Platinum G-2000 with one of Valtris’ Santicizer non-phthalate plasticizers, to create optimized solutions for their specific processing needs.

Santicizer® Platinum G-2000 will display the USDA Certified Biobased Product label which indicates the portion of a product that comes from a renewable source. Santicizer® Platinum G-2000 is cost-comparative, readily available, and performs as well as or better than its petroleum based counterparts. “Displaying the USDA BioPreferred label for Santicizer® Platinum G-2000 assures our customers they are formulating with a certified 85% Biobased plasticizer”, explained Dr. Mark Holt, Business Director, Polymer Modifiers. “We applaud Valtris Specialty Chemicals, Inc. for earning the USDA Certified Biobased Product label,” said Vernell Thompson, USDA BioPreferred Program. “Products from Valtris Specialty Chemicals, Inc. are contributing to an ever-expanding marketplace that adds value to renewable agriculture commodities, creates jobs in rural communities, and decreases our reliance on petroleum.”
